One of the first Indian wars fought in the west happened in Appalachia at the time of the American Revolution.  Led by the governor of Virginia, Lord Dunmore, this war, which was named for him, raged on the Appalachian frontier, from Southwest Virginia to southeastern Ohio.  Today we begin the story of Lord Dunmore’s War.
