In 1886 two brothers from Elizabethton, Bob Taylor and Alf Taylor, were nominated by the Democratic and Republican parties, respectively, for governor of Tennessee.
Thus began a most fascinating campaign between two veteran Appalachian politicians, storytellers and fiddle players!
